HEREFORD SKATEPARK BELIEVES:
Everyone should have equal chances in life no matter what their ability, ethnicity, gender, beliefs or life experiences. We want to make sure that the park is available to all. We value difference and believe diversity should be at the heart of community, including any volunteers who wish to join us.
We believe that we can support all parts of society to achieve a fulfilling experience of skateboarding, if we make full use of the talents and resources of all our trustees and volunteers. We will recognise and value individual differences and challenge discriminatory practices or attitudes.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF users & VOLUNTEERS
everybody using the site or volunteering on site are expected to support Hereford Skatepark’s ethics.
We expect everyone to:
Follow basic skatepark etiquette (see image & Link);
promote a place where people are valued and have dignity;
Call out discrimination;
Look after one another and make sure we are all safe;
Call out any harassment, abuse or intimidatory behaviours;
Take responsibility for application of these guidelines.
PARENTS:
This is not daycare or a playground: you need to keep an eye on your child to make sure they are following the above guidelines;
Skateparks are dangerous places where there are many risks - it is your responsibility to look after your child.
Our goal is to create a fun, safe, and positive environment where the community can skate, learn, and enjoy the park together.
Ethics & Safeguarding
Hereford Community Skatepark is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for everyone.
Safety first: We prioritize the wellbeing of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. Volunteers follow these safeguarding guidelines at all times..
Respect & inclusion: Bullying, harassment, or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated. We encourage everyone to act with courtesy and integrity.
Speak up: If you see unsafe behavior or have a concern, report it to staff immediately — all reports are taken seriously and handled confidentially.
IF YOU EXPERIENCE ABUSE OR INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR TALK TO SOMEONE in the cafe/ shop or VOLUNTEERING ON SITE & EMAIL US AND WE WILL SUPPORT YOU!
Just because they’re a sick skater doesn’t mean there’s no risk:
